We are hiring for a Manufacturing Planner to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely production of equipment for Motive's global operations. The Manufacturing Planner will work closely with the Manufacturing Director to coordinate production schedules, manage material requirements, and optimise workflow within our manufacturing facility.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, this role is responsible for planning and overseeing the entire production cycle, from material procurement to final assembly, ensuring that production targets and deadlines are met. This involves liaising with supply chain, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and industry best practices. The Manufacturing Planner will also be key in identifying process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
The role will require strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with various teams, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, HSEQ and Operations, to ensure seamless communication and alignment on production goals.
About the team:
You will be joining our Manufacturing Division, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Director and working closely with a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality products. The Manufacturing team is central to Motive's operations, ensuring that all equipment is produced to the highest standards and meets the demands of our clients worldwide. This role will contribute to maintaining and improving our production efficiency, helping drive the success of Motive's manufacturing efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Adopting and promoting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager, Project Team, HSEQ, Maintenance, Supply Chain and other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the manufacturing process.
- Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc.
- To be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.
- Support sustainability initiatives by incorporating environmentally responsible practices into manufacturing planning.
- Promote waste reduction, energy efficiency, and responsible sourcing of materials.
- Develop, monitor, and adjust production schedules to meet project deadlines and customer requirements. Ensure that resources are allocated efficiently and that production timelines are achieved.
- Coordinate with the Manufacturing Manager and other department leads to allocate manpower, materials, and equipment based on production needs and project priorities.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure the availability of materials and components required for production. Work with procurement and supply chain teams to manage stock levels and order materials as needed.
- Analyse and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimise waste. Identify and implement best practices to streamline workflows and optimise resource utilisation.
- Assess production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks. Work with the Manufacturing Director & Manufacturing Manager to implement solutions to maximise production output and minimise downtime.
- Track production metrics, including on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and resource utilisation. Prepare regular reports for the Manufacturing Director on production performance and areas for improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall quality.
Required skills / knowledge:
- Proven experience in production planning or manufacturing coordination, with a strong understanding of scheduling, inventory management, and resource allocation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and optimise production processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations, including fabrication, assembly, and machine shop processes. Knowledge of planning and scheduling software is preferred.
- Strong organisational abilities, with experience managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing demands
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present information clearly.
- High level of attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality in production planning.
