About the role:

Location: Kintore, Aberdeenshire

Hours: Full time

The Technical Sales Manager will be an integral part of the sales team and is key to the success of Motive Offshore Groups’ business goals. 

As Technical Sales Manager for Motive, you will carry out sales activities on assigned clients and also generate and qualify sales leads to meet company objectives. They will ensure customer satisfaction is in accordance with the Motive Offshore Quality Management System. 


About the Team

You’ll be joining the European Sales team, who, like you, will come with a passion for sales & delivering for the customer. The team is focused on ensuring the best standard of service is provided to our clients, and know that to do that, working closely with our team internally, is vital. 

Reporting into Ryan, our European Sales Manager, you’ll be working alongside a team of Technical Sales Managers & Sales Coordinators, as well as communicating daily with our manufacturing, rentals and projects teams to deliver what’s required with first class customer service. 

And you’ll be working alongside a committed and proud Motive team in the UK and globally that want to play their part in the growth of the business and support each other daily to create a positive, values driven and hard-working professional environment.


Responsibilities: 

People

  • Adopting and promoting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
  • Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc.
  • To be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.
  • To uphold the Motive Offshore Group People Values.

Planet

  • Promote environmentally responsible practices, such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, and proper disposal of hazardous materials, to minimise the environmental impact of production activities

Product

  • Support and assist the European Region Sales Manager in achieving Motives annual sales revenue targets/budgets. 
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers during product evaluation, selection, and specification(s). 
  • Assist fellow members of the sales team with any technical requirements relating to their respective enquiries/opportunities.
  • Visit clients face to face to discuss technical and commercial ongoing leads.
  • Be responsible for handling rental and sales enquiries/opportunities.
  • Carry out quality checks on the product and service delivery at the end of the project, as per the customer satisfaction management procedure.
  • Read and understand technical drawings associated with the Motive Offshore Group Ltd product offering.
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product/service meets clients’ needs.
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements.
  • Liaise and collaborate with all relevant departments within Motive regarding bespoke equipment enquiries when required.
  • Develop and maintain the customer sales database as per departmental procedures. 
  • Support Sales Administration team when necessary. 
  • Work in conjunction with the Marketing/PR department to develop and maintain sales activities. 
  • Attend exhibitions and sales events as required. 
  • Monitor competitors market conditions and productive development to provide market intelligence and forecast information. 
  • Monitor and track sales project(s), deliverables, schedule, budget. 
  • Target and develop client base to generate growth in sales revenue and margin thorough contractual and new business wins. 
  • Carry out sales visits to existing clients and/or potential clients where applicable.
  • Engage in any other reasonable activity as requested by the management.
  • HSEQ – comply with health, safety and environmental regulations and the company’s management system.


Required skills/knowledge:

  • Experience of working with Cable Handling solutions within the Offshore and Energy industries
  • Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of sales.
  • Ability to achieve targets.
  • Good negotiator, with an innovative approach.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics/requirements.
  • Confident to communicate with all levels of the organisations.  
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organisation. 
  • Good computer literacy. 
  • Team player.
