About the role:

Location: Offshore/UK

Hours: Variable Based on set contract

The core function of the role is to act as a Motive focal point and support the Hose Integrity Management (HIM) inspection surveys offshore and onshore and Flexible Hose Assembly replacement scopes on a client offshore installation, vessel, or onshore base of operations.  

The Offshore Hose Technician will be the focal point for each specific scope of work communicating effectively with the client and relevant Motive Offshore Group departments.      

We are growing our offerings to clients within Hose Integrity at Motive, and the Hose Technician will be entrusted to ensure we are able to deliver our services to the highest standard. You’ll get the chance to work on a variety of projects, communicate ideas and processes that can be implement for improvement and continuously develop your technical & people skills.

As a part of our Certification & Inspection team, you’ll become part of a small, hardworking, and skilled team who are used to working collaboratively and to high standards. you'll be supported by our Technical Authority and Operations teams in Kintore, who care deeply about what they do & the impact they have on the services we provide.

Responsibilities:

People

  • Adopting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
  • Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc.
  • Liaising and building relationship with the client whilst at the worksite.

  • Adhere to and promote Motive's sustainability initiatives, contributing to Net Zero objectives
  • HSEQ – compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, and the company’s management system.
  • Adherence to client safe working practices and quality assurance systems
  • To be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.

Product

  • Mobilise offshore as the lead technician and Motive focal point to carry out hose integrity management work scopes and flexible hose assembly replacement work scopes on client installations and vessels. 
  • Carry out CVI (close visual inspection) on client flexible hose assemblies and fittings whilst in situ, in line with Motive HIM process and procedure.
  • Identify flexible Hose Assembly types, fittings, and condition, in line with Motive HIM procedure. 
  • Affix Motive custom hose tags and register flexible hose assemblies on Motive Motion Kinetic HIM system, as directed by Hose Integrity Manager.               
  • Carry out hose assembly tasks, techniques for flexible hose replacement and carry out in situ hydrostatic pressure testing on flexible hose assemblies while adhering to hose manufacturer process and procedure for assembly and testing activity at client site, following direction from Hose Integrity Manager utilising scope work pack and internal processes and procedures. 
  • Recommending possible solutions to problems/concerns identified with client hose assemblies, applications or operating procedures and carry out remedial actions when appropriate. 
  • Lead the use of Motion Kinetic Software for inputting client asset hose technical specification, generating FHA (Flexible Hose Assembly) data collection reports, FHA defect reports and the creation of client asset hose registers. Provide support and training for trainees on the function and use.    
  • Responsibility of Completing Daily Client Service Record Forms in full, with accurate times and descriptions obtaining signed approval from the client. 
  • Create daily reports and ensure submission to relevant client and Motive contacts following the end of each work shift, with direction from the Hose Integrity Manager.  
  • Demobilise equipment at the worksite and prepare for shipping, completing any necessary cargo manifests.
  • Adherence to client safe working practices and quality assurance systems
  • Participation in site TBT (Toolbox Talks) and TRA (Task Risk Assessments) as required by client.
  • Travelling to worldwide destinations as and when required
  • Lead business development opportunities when on client sites and installations/vessels.

Required skills / knowledge:

  • Significant experience in Hose Integrity Management, Hose Assembly and Hydraulics. 
  • BFPA (British Fluid Power Association) Training Certification 
  • Full Offshore certification.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Leadership Skills
  • Business development 
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise
