About the role:

Location: Sharjah, UAE

Hours: Permanent - 38 hours per week

Due to continued growth in our FZE Division, we have a requirement for a Project Engineer to join our team in Sharjah, UAE.  As an integral member of the team, the Project Engineer will be responsible for directing, organizing and controlling both internal projects and external, client focused, project activities.  

The role will be involved in project specific engineering checks and will ensure all projects are carried out in compliance with the Quality Management system & within relevant HSEQ guidelines.

As a part of Motive FZE, you’ll be a key member of a close-knit, hardworking, and skilled team: one that is used to working to a high standard and specification.  You will be supported by Ryan, our FZE Operations Manager, whose goal, much like your own, is to ensure that projects run smoothly and to the client’s requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    • Adopting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
    • Assist with determination of project requirements. 
    • Prepare project planning documents. 
    • Attend Project Meetings and minute actions.
    • Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades 
    • Use project scheduling and control tools to prepare and monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
    • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the Motive team. 
    • Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. 
    • Assist the Operations Manager in the review of Contractor quotations to ensure that only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval. 
    • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others.
    • Keep the Operations Manager and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations.
    • Prepare, review and sign off documentation packages for client operations to include all relevant certification, data sheets, Manuals and other documentation
    • Assist with in field personnel selection and logistics in conjunction with client requirements and internal stakeholders.
    • Prepare al mobilization orders
    • Assist Workshop team in planning and scheduling preventative maintenance based on upcoming requirements


    Required skills / knowledge:

      • Experience of working with Mechanical, Hydraulic, and/or electrical equipment 
      • Proven project delivery track record within the Marine / Offshore industry
      • Experience in Management Systems BS EN ISO 9001, BS EN ISO 14001 or OHSAS 18001 would be advantageous.
      • The ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of staff
      • Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure.
      • Assertive with meticulous attention to detail.
