About the role: 

Location: Singapore

Hours: Full-time

Reporting to our APAC Regional Manager, the Workshop manager will be responsible for ensuring effective planning, coordination and management all activities related to Motive Offshore Group Rental Fleet services & operations for our APAC region.

This role will also be responsible for the effective running of the rental equipment and ensuring products are maintained, operated efficiently, ready for client hire within the allocated delivery schedule as per rental planner. 

Growing our services and support for clients in APAC region is key for us and our Singapore workshop and our team are key for that. As Workshop Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our Singapore workshop and rental fleet operations are built and run. You’ll have real ownership, the chance to influence processes, build a strong team, and set standards that will support offshore projects across the region.


About the team:

You will be joining a dedicated and collaborative team, with key operations based in the APAC region. As our Motive team continues to expand, our APAC region plays an integral role in supporting the business's operations across the wider Asia region.

Responsibilities:

People

  • Adopt and promote the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout.
  • Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc.
  • To be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.



Planet 

  • Lead by example in setting the highest possible standards in the promotion of People Values, HSEQ procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance to the Motive Offshore Group HSEQ Policy, procedures, standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses or environmental concerns
  • Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures and initiatives as they are developed to support our Net Zero objectives.


Product

Equipment Management

  • Planning the personnel, material and facilities resources required to fulfil the project schedule.
  • Attend project briefings & de-briefings and carry out pre and post shift toolbox talks
  • Offloading equipment returned from client locations & quarantining and tagging off hire equipment in line with the Product Identification and Tagging Procedure.
  • Ensure proper commission of equipment at worksite and perform load test operations as per the clients’ requirements, completing all necessary paperwork.
  • Upkeep of and completion of demobilisation paperwork including the recording of missing or damaged equipment
  • Performing and documenting inspections of demobbed equipment
  • Identifying and undertaking required repairs and maintenance of demobbed equipment
  • Servicing and undertaking planned preventive maintenance of the rental fleet equipment and any other equipment deemed necessary.
  • Testing of equipment including flow / pressure testing hydraulic systems and flushing
  • Mobilisation, Demobilising of all hire equipment returning to onshore in accordance with the Rental Equipment Mobilisation and Demobilisation procedure.
  • Ability to read, understand and disseminate technical drawings and converse with the technical requirements of the task in hand. 
  • Identify and provide appropriate tools and equipment, instruction and technical data to operatives.
  • Assist in the Mobilisation and FAT process as and when required.

Operations Management

  • Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programmes.
  • Supervising, planning and controlling the activities of the workshop department, associated support and vendor personnel. 
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the process systems in the workshop.
  • Have overall responsibility for all activities performed in the Rental Fleet. 
  • Ensure employees are suitably trained and experienced for the task they are allocated.
  • Ensure proper off hire of returned equipment; ensure stocktake of equipment on arrival at worksite, communicating any anomalies and or damage to the Project Team
  • Maintain communication with Regional Manager with regards to the schedule of projects, and resources required to complete rental projects.
  • Liaise with Project Team to confirm project deliverables.
  • Ensure all equipment certification, documentation is complete prior to equipment leaving site.
  • To liaise and build rapport with the client whilst at the worksite.
  • Complete required onsite paperwork such as posts installation checks & maintenance records.
  • Participate in and ensure safe systems of work (e.g. risk assessments) are in place and understood by all direct reports and subcontractors
  • Maintain a tidy, hazard-free workshop environment.


Required skills / knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of & experience working with Reel Drive Systems and Hydraulic Tensioners
  • Experience of working in similar role, leading workshop operations & a team within the Oil & Gas & energy sector
  • A background in Mechanical Engineering with experience of servicing equipment.
  • Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities.
  • The ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organisation.
  • Be action orientated, demonstrative drive for results and show motivation to inspire others.
  • Stimulates creativity and works with peers to create innovative processes and procedures.
  • Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities.
  • Good computer literacy & strong organisation skills.
  • Positive, conscientious and flexible attitude.
