About the role: 

Location: Offshore/Global

Hours: Variable based on set contract


The Technical Sales Lead is an integral part of the regional sales team and is key to ensuring that responses to Client requests and clarifications are dealt with to the highest of standards. The Technical Sales Lead will carry out technical sales activities, including but not limited to, technical analysis, technical due diligence, and recommendations of equipment spreads to meet Client requirements and queries.  

The individual will also qualify sales leads and support the generation of quotations to meet Client requests. They will ensure Client satisfaction is in accordance with the Motive Offshore Quality Management System.

As a key member of the regional sales team, you’ll play a central role in shaping the success of Motive’s technical sales efforts. Your contributions will help drive our ability to respond quickly and effectively to client requests while ensuring our solutions meet the highest technical standards. With a focus on providing exceptional service, you’ll be part of a team that works closely to deliver tailored, innovative solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities:

People

  • Adopting and promoting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
  • Support and assist the Americas Business Development Manager in achieving Motives annual sales revenue targets/budgets. 
  • Provide technical guidance and support to staff and Clients during product evaluation, selection, specification and clarifications. 
  • Assist fellow members of the regional team with any technical requirements relating to their respective enquiries/opportunities.
  • Attend Client meetings to discuss technical and commercial related matters.
  • Support Sales Administration team when necessary. 
  • Develop strong working relations with key stakeholders – Clients, colleagues etc

  • To be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd

Product

  • Be responsible for handling rental and sales enquiries/opportunities.
  • Carry out quality checks on the product and service delivery at the end of the project, as per the customer satisfaction management procedure.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings associated with the Motive Offshore Group Ltd product offering. 
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product/service meets Client needs.
  • Manage and interpret Client requirements to maximise utilisation of Motive assets.
  • Liaise and collaborate with all relevant departments within Motive regarding bespoke equipment enquiries when required, supporting asset development and research & developments activities as required. 
  • Support in the development and maintain the Client sales database as per departmental procedures. 
  • Work in conjunction with the Marketing department to develop and promote Motives technical offering. 
  • Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development to provide market intelligence and forecast information. 
  • Monitor and track sales project(s), deliverables, schedule, budget. 
  • Target and develop Client base to generate growth in sales revenue and margin thorough contractual and new business wins. 
  • Carry out sales visits to existing clients and/or potential Clients.
  • Attend exhibitions and sales events as required. 
  • Engage in any other reasonable activity as requested by the management. 


Required skills / knowledge:

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in Motive equipment offering.
  • Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of sales.
  • Ability to achieve targets.
  • Good negotiator, with an innovative approach.
  • Strong understanding of Client and market dynamics/requirements.
  • Confident to communicate with all levels of the organisations.  
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organisation. 
  • Good computer literacy. 
  • Team player.
